The Sacramento Valley is located in the middle of California's fertile Central Valley. This County covers approximately nine hundred ninety-four square miles. This Central Valley is California's prime agricultural region. Sacramento County extends from the low delta lands between the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers north to about ten miles beyond the State Capitol and east to the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.   • Antelope is located 15 miles northeast of downtown Sacramento. Established in the mid-1800s by Chinese immigrants who worked for the railroad.
