Del Paso Heights, California is a neighborhood within the City of Sacramento, California. Sacramento is divided into 4 distinct areas and Del Paso Heights is joined by other neighborhoods in Area IV.

Area IV is located north of the American River. This Sacramento neighborhood has a rich history and was originally part of a 44,000 acre land grant made by the Spanish government in 1844 to Eliab Grimes. It was called Rancho Del Paso. The land was acquired in 1862 by James Haggin who converted the ranch into a thoroughbred horse breeding farm, producing California's first Kentucky Derby winner in 1886. The area of Del Paso Heights remained as grazing land for both horses and cattle throughout the 1800s.

Del Paso Heights is one of two communities that serve neighborhoods going back to the early 1920s, and support McClellan Park which was formerly known as McClellan Air Force Base. Today McClellan Park is one of California's modern and Unique Corporate Communities and largest master planned community. Del Paso Heights is also home to Del Paso Nuevo, the regions largest infill 'smart growth' master planned community. This is all part of Area #4 Uptown District which is a hip reinvestment area in Sacramento and is a destination point for artsy type businesses and is becoming quite famous for its quaint small town charm and appeal.

Uptown is "The Arts and Business District" and everyone in this Capitol City is talking about it.
